The following is a list of short stories written by inspiring authors from the 1800's. We will be adding to this list as we are able.



1.  Domestic Tranquility - "The Wife" by Washington Irving. 
 It describes how one couple had a happy marriage regardless of the loss of the husband's wealth and business. The description of how his wife continues to make a happy home even in her new found poverty is inspiring.

2.  Playing with Sunbeams - by Mrs. Elizabeth Prentiss.
This is a beautiful, precious, short story about a wife who sees the cheeriness in all things, despite a life of many hardships and trials. It is an encouraging description of a very dear, and much beloved, Christian wife.  This story can be found, as a bonus, in the following book, published by "The Legacy of Home Press." -
